You need to develop a design philosophy that establishes a set of guidelines. This is more important than developing a set of rules or patterns you apply blindly.

Guidelines help to formulate, drive and validate decisions. You can’t begin to make the best decisions without understanding the impact of your decisions.

Every decision you make, and every line of code you write comes with trade-offs.

In this talk, Bill will share the design philosophies and guidelines he follows when writing code and will show how they are closely tied to the Go programming language.

Bill is a managing partner at Ardan Labs in Miami, Florida, a group of passionate engineers, artists, and business professionals focused on building and delivering reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.
